      Kitchen Plumbing Sydney

To the untrained eye, the kitchen holds a labyrinth of pipes and lines that create a maze under the sinks and countertops. Usually, kitchen plumbing includes water pipes, drains and even maybe a gas supply pipe.

      What’s under your sink?

Generally, the most obvious part of your kitchen plumbing is seen under your sink. Here you will see your gas connector controlled by a gas valve, attached to your gas range. You will also see two small valves that connect to your hot water supply and cold water supply, respectively.  Most often than not, when you turn these valves, clockwise, they will turn off the water supply that brings water to your tap.

Near your cold water shutoff valve, you may also see other water connections, like for a water treatment system, if you have it, or for an  instantaneous hot water system. These connections may be by way of a saddle valve.

The valves are connected to the tap by way of flexible supply tubes. Meanwhile, gas is brought to your gas range through a gas supply line linked to a shutoff valve, usually found at the bottom of the gas range.

      Why you should know

It helps to know at least the basic structure or layout of your kitchen plumbing so should anything go wrong, you’d know what to tell your plumber. Your kitchen is basically the heart of your home. It’s the hub that connects most of your day-to-day activities and you just can’t afford to let it stop running properly.

A decommissioned kitchen will greatly affect the daily life of everyone in your home.

      Kitchen Plumbing

      Frequently Asked Question

Plumbing works done in the kitchen including the kitchen sink, under the counter pipes, and sewer drain. The more accessories or appliances you want to be added, the more plumbing jobs you need to be done. Connecting your pipeline towards the gas source, or tracing down your plumbing tubes as water and waste ways, are just some of them.

To plumb a kitchen, you will need strainers, gaskets, couplings, and traps. An expert plumber understands that these are the common tools needed to have a good kitchen up and running. Water lines under the counter through the sewers are also part of a kitchen plumb. This may sound easy but this must be done right the first time.

The price range in fixing kitchen plumbing is between $3500 to $8500. This is for a total remodel. It can be lower when only a portion is remodelled. The price range for partial kitchen plumbing is somewhere between $1500 to $2500. Dishwashers and other kitchen accessories that need upgrading contribute to the price of the whole kitchen fix.

If you require whole kitchen plumbing services, yes, you do need a plumber. When you are just changing faucets or soap holders, you can surely do it on your own. It all depends on the work that you need. A plumber is highly suggested to be present and do the work when your concern has pipes and water lines checking and setup.
